Louie's owner writes: Louie is enjoying his new toy that Santa brought him.. Louie is now 20 months old. He has been a handful lately. Enjoys being very vocal and will bark at everything and won't stop. Correcting makes him worse.. He doesn’t like when anyone walks out the door without him.. Gordo's owner writes: My husband Jason and I adopted our baby Gordo June 2009. We went to the humane society looking for a female dog that was not anything hyper. Well when we got there we saw Gordo and just fell in love with him. We later found out that he was going to be put to sleep the next day. I am so glad that we got to him in time. He has tons of energy and loves tearing all of his toys apart. All of them except his favorite toy Mr. Squeakers. It's an orange rubber barbell.

Tiga's owner writes: I just got Tiga on Sat. the 19th 2009. She is 2 and a half months old. This is my first Jackhuahua. I have 2 Chi's and have had 4 throughout my life. I have never had a JRT, but my Dad had one and I was able to visit it several times, so I kinda know how much energy they have.

I really look forward to raising my new baby.

Louie's Gallery (7)

Louie is now a 16 months old and doing great!!! We have come so far in training him. He has been enjoying his summer. He loves to play fetch with his ball in the lake and take long rides on the boat.. His social skills are much better. He gets along with people and other dogs now. He enjoys going on his play dates with his buddies. He still does not like big dogs, only small and medium size. Louie also encountered his first bee sting this summer. His little paw and thigh swelled up real big and he limp around for a little while. We put some ice on it and removed the stinger and he is doing much better. Thankfully he didn’t have an allergic reaction.

I had to share my pictures of my jackhuahua, Petey. He will be a year old in October. Petey came into my life two months after my husband deployed to Afghanistan. He's been a absolute joy in my life, helping me through a hard time in my life. He's not as hyper as a jack and not as timid as a chihuahua. He's a happy mix of the two, a wonderful, obedient dog.

Louie's Gallery (6)

Louie writes: I am now a 1 yr old……. I went on my first boating trip of the season and loved it. It is still too chilly for me to go swimming. Once it warms up, I will be all about swimming in the lake. I enjoy watching the fish jump out of the water. I often bark at them.. I also enjoy looking over the sides of the boat and letting the wind and water hit me in the face. I can’t wait for summer to be here :)

Roxy's owner writes: Here is a picture of our Jackhuahua, Roxy. We adopted her from the Humane Society here in San Antonio, Texas.
Roxy started off kind of timid as she was on the streets for a while before we adopted her.
We have had her since Dec. 22 and she is 4 years old now. We think that she must have been in a home before because she came to us with such good manners and she knew how to shake hands. When she shook our hands for the first time we knew that she was the dog for us. She enjoys the sun and walking at the dog park and she enjoys having visitors over at our place and she greets them with a shake of the hand. She is such a great addition to our family.
The pictures we are sending you are from a camping trip we recently took to Garner State Park here in Texas.
We were hiking and spelunking caves with her and she was taking those hills like a champ!

Louie's owner writes: Louie is doing quite well. He is 11 months old. He loves going on his walks and runs everyday. He also enjoys visiting his neighborhoods friends’. He is fun of energy that never stops…… I am working with him right know on his social skills. He doesn’t like it when new people approach him. He is fine once you are around him a while, then he warms right up to you. He also doesn’t like it when you go through any door and he is not allowed to follow. He will begin to bark and attack the door. Just a few hurtles we are working on getting over. All in all he is a great dog. Each day is a new learning experience. Louie really enjoys playing fetch with his Frisbee & ball. He also enjoys playing with his pal “Zipper” (cat). Louie is going to be celebrating his 1^st birthday and April 30^th. He can’t wait to have his big party with all his friends.
